Therapeutic Pilates

These classes begin by weaving together myofascial release and stretching to open and prepare the body for movement. Then the focus moves to developing core strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. Movements are presented at multiple levels which allows students to choose to work at a beginning or intermediate pace. Students learn to be aware of breathing patterns and spinal alignment while engaging the deep muscles of the core. Various props (e.g.thera bands, foam rollers, rings, blocks, mini stability balls, etc.) are incorporated to enhance and intensify the workout.

Slow Flow

Slow flow yoga classes move at a slower pace and are rooted in the idea of intentional movement. Moving at a slower pace enables the body to take deeper breaths and creates space for a deeper mind - body connection. Each pose flows into the next to help cultivate a sense of a moving meditation.
When we slow things down, we give our brain time to process the request and break it down into component parts. We’re able to practice those components with precision, which adds up over time to create more skill. And with more skill, things feel easier.

This yoga practice can be as easy or as difficult as you like, with the opportunity to take your practice deeper if you’ve been practicing for a while or start trying different ways to connect to your body if you are new to yoga.  No matter what level, you will be guaranteed to get your heart rate up; but at the same time calm your nervous system.

Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy, the Yin Yang yoga practice inspires a beautiful balance between stillness in movement and movement in stillness. Each class cultivates the space for students to drop into an exploratory journey of themselves as they progress towards alignment in hatha flow sequences and release in longer held yin poses.

Yin Yoga is a quiet contemplative practice. Restoring the body and calming the mind. With passive, longer-held poses, Yin increases circulation, mobilizes the joints and improves flexibility.

The gentle traction and compression held over a long period of time helps to flush out toxins and lubricate the joints while releasing tension in the ligaments, fascia and tendons. It's also particularly great for tapping into the parasympathetic nervous system ("rest and digest" vs. "fight or flight"), enabling a balanced energy throughout the body.

Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi/prana/mauri to the organs. Whether you're looking for an introduction to Yoga, or a gentle practice to compliment sports, labour or office posture, Yin is the perfect companion.

Yoga & Pilates

This class offers the perfect blend of Yoga and Pilates, with a focus on full body optimum functioning - strength and stability as well as flexibility and mobility. We will move through standing and seated yoga postures which will be woven together with Pilates movements and principles. This course will increase your body awareness, support you in developing deep core strength and reconnect you to breath-centric movement. 

Dance Flow

60 min ·  Beginner to advanced

Dance Flow is a combination of mindfulness, movement/dance and somatic release. We will be exploring movement off the mat, to get out of our minds and into our bodies. A really fun and expressive way to start of the day, paired with music that will get you grooving. This is a guided practice - expect to drop into a little mindfulness, followed by some exercises to get you comfortable, then some time to dance freely (I promise that it’ll feel amazing), and finishes with some mindful stretching! You will come away feeling free, joyful and grounded!

Stretch & Release

60 min ·  Beginner to advanced

This class is designed to improve whole body mobility by using various techniques and tools for stretching and self-myofascial release. A combination of isolated and functional stretches as well use of massage balls and foam rollers. Release tight muscles and improve your flexibility.
